Chinese Tests

 

 To better respond to the needs of an ever increasing number of Chinese learners worldwide, the Chinese Ministry of Education has assigned the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) to develop a concept for international standardized tests as an official proof of Chinese language knowledge.

Only Confucius Institutes are authorized to hold the examinations.

Location of the HSK exam

All rooms are at the Confucius Institute.

Please arrive on time! Participants are exluded from the exam,

if they arrive later than 15 minutes after the exam has started.

HSK Test (Chinese Proficiency Test)

The official international standardized test is available for all who have to document a qualified Chinese-language knowledge, a case in point is for students who want to be admitted to a course of study in China.The new HSK test includes Written Test and Spoken Test.

The test is done in 6 different levels, which must be passed separately.

HSK Level 1

 

Simple printouts and records are to be understood and applied.

Everyday situations are to be mastered easily.

Contents of familiar situations in the areas of work, school, leisure etc. should be covered.

The candidates are in a position to discussions on various topics in Chinese and to communicate spontaneously and fluently. A Conversation with native speakers is quite possible without effort.

Candidates should be able to read Chinese magazines and newspapers, to watch Chinese movies and to give a speech in Chinese.

If you pass this test, you should understand virtually everything heard and read easily and express yourself spontaneously, very fluently and accurately.

HSKK (Hanyu Shuiping KouyuKaoshi)

The test is a standardized examination for evaluating the proficiency of an individual’s spoken Chinese language level.

HSKK (elementary level)

Test takers who are able to pass the test can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and meet specific needs for communication.

HSKK (Intermediate level)

It evaluates the test takers’ ability to express themselves in oral Chinese. Test takers who are able to pass the test can understand intermediate Chinese and converse fluently with native Chinese speakers.

HSKK (Advanced level)

Test takers who are able to pass the HSKK Spoken Test (Advanced) can understand spoken Chinese and fluently express their ideas in Chinese.

HSKK Test Structure

 

Elementary: Listen and repeat, Listen and answer,speak your answer.

Intermediate: Listen and repeat,look and say,speak your answer.

Adanced: Listen and retell, read the paragraph, speak your answer.

BCT Test (Business Chinese Test)

BCT test focuses on the internationally standardized language for qualified Chinese-language knowledge in business activities. BCT test consists 3 parts, they are listening, reading and writing.

BCT has a total of 2 levels to describe the business Chinese proficiency of the examinees, BCT(A), that is equal to HSK3 and BCT(B), equal to HSK5

YCT Test (Youth Chinese Test)

YCT Test is the internationally standardized Chinese-language examination for students of elementary and secondary schools. They should have the possibility as early as possible to contact the Chinese Language and Culture.

It consists of two independent parts: written test and oral test. The oral test includes YCT (Elementary) and YCT (Intermediate). The written test is made up of four different levels, which need to be passed separately:

YCT Level 1

 To understand and use the most commonly used Chinese words and phrases.

Muster-Test

YCT Level 2

To understand and use simple Chinese words and phrases / to conduct simple conversation.

YCT Level 3

With good basic knowledge of the Chinese situation, to conduct a simple conversation about daily life.

 To meet basic communicative tasks in everyday life, for example, on a China trip.
