Materials 

We use the course book „Great Wall Chinese”. Handouts and abstracts will be provided by the course instructor. The course book „Great Wall Chinese“ combines different teaching methods like on-line Multimedia-Software and Multimedia CD. It enables the ability to communicate in a flexible way and targets at the advancement of the ability to communicate. „Great Wall Chinese“ is purchasable at the Confucius-Institute.

Target group / Basic knowledge

Continuation of the Chinese A1 (Phase 1) with basic knowledge (about 80 vocabularies)

Description

Introduction to the basics of the Chinese language; we learn about phonetics, grammar, some crucial Chinese characters, colloquial phrases and geography; Practices of everyday Chinese like greeting and self-introduction, shopping, family dialogues, eat and drink etc. At the end of the course you will be able to communicate in everyday situations.

With regular presence and completing of course assignments, it is possible to get a certificate marked with grades. The four abilities will be separately reported and marked. A total grade and ECTS-Grade will be given if all the four is positive (level A1 and A2 – 2 ECTS-Grades). The course is in accordance with 3 semester hours. The concerned institutions decide about eventual recognitions within the framer of curricula.

Methods

In the group you will acquire basic knowledge of Chinese communicatively and playfully. The interaction between the instructor and students trains the listening and speaking skills. Multimedia-Software will facilitate the training of language skills.
