On the 14th and 29th of April, 2010, the Confucius-Institute at the University of Vienna held Tea-Ceremony evenings. Our tea mistress introduced the various sorts of tea, the customs of drinking tea and the development of the tea culture in China. The participants enjoyed the fresh brewed teas like green tea Biluochun, half-fermented Tieguanyin, flavoured Jasmin-tea, red tea Minhong from Yunnan and the special Puer-tee with rustic flavor. During the tea tasting the tea mistress told interesting stories about tea with poetic names like “tea of the green mountains and rivers”. She also referred to famous poetries from the Song dynasty. Accompanying the tea ceremony the audience treated themselves to some fine Chinese tea cookies.
