BFSU(Beijing Foreign Studies University)International Summer Session   
(July 6 - July 31, 2020)


The BFSU International Summer Session is an international course programme mainly featuring multi-language studies and area studies. BFSU has successfully organized the International Summer Session (ISS) with more than 124 courses in total and accepted over 1.514 students worldwide since 2016. Apart from academic training, our ISS program also encompasses various cultural activities through which all participants can discover and explore Chinese traditional art as well as exchange and discuss ideas.




Interdisciplinary courses- provide courses ranging from economics, politics, linguistics, art, philosophy and literature to area studies, international relations, Chinese studies and more.

Various teaching languages- cater to those with specific language interests, as most courses are taught in English, with others held in German, Spanish, French, Russian and a number of other languages.

Diversified teaching approaches- deliver themed plenary lectures, workshops, forums and free talks, to exchange and to extend your knowledge of your chosen subjects.


International learning atmosphere- you will be part of an international community of students encouraged to discuss, debate and develop your own understanding.


Teaching Staff

Experienced professors and associate professors who are leading figures in their study fields, from internationally renowned universities from all over the world such as the USA, the UK, Germany, Australia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia, Serbia, Slovenia, Hungary, Columbia, Arabia, etc.


Studying at BFSU ISS

Intensive study- since the duration of the summer session is very short, courses will be taught intensively. All the courses are academically rigorous and require you to prepare for your studies in advance. Apart from academic training, ISS program also organizes various cultural activities. Activities such as Beijing City Tour, learning Chinese medicine, watching Peking opera, visiting the National Museum etc. are always very popular.


Application Requirements

1. Above the age of 18 (inclusive), and in good health;

2. Currently attending college/university;


3. Able to understand and follow arguments presented in written and spoken English at university level, with proof of proficiency in English (required of non-English native speaking students, scores of CET, TEM, TOEFL, GRE, or IELTS serve as reference)


Fees and Application

Application Fee: 600 RMB; Tuition Fee: 4,000 RMB for one course (2 credits).

Application until 31.03.2020

The recommended students from The Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna (up to 2 students or 8 credits)  will enjoy application and tuition gratis!  Beijing Foreign Studies University will also provide students with gratis on-campus apartments.
